Hi, I am Jenna.

Hello and welcome to my page! Searching for a therapist can be a daunting task, I hope this site will make it a little easier by providing some quick answers and helpful information about the therapy process and the types of services I provide. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) I have been providing individual and family therapy services for over 12 years and find it an honor to step into the lives of those I work with on their journey. As a fellow (insert title - parent, spouse, friend, human) I promise to authentically show up and greet you with warmth and empathy while also providing you with practical tools, research based guidance, and thoughtful discussion as we work towards your goals for treatment.

Individual Therapy

I provide Individual therapy for adults, adolescents/teens, and children (ages 7 and older) who are looking to improve their functioning due to life-stressors, challenges with depression, anxiety, disordered eating and body image, trauma, family conflict or major life changes. I use a blend of treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Strengths Perspective and Family Systems. I am also currently under supervision for certified eating disorders treatment and am happy to include faith-based conversation into our work as well per client request.

I-PCIT

I provide Internet-Based Parent Child Interaction Therapy (I-PCIT). PCIT is an evidence based treatment for children ages 2-7 and their parents/caregivers who are struggling with difficult behavior in the home or school setting. PCIT is highly effective in enhancing parent-child relationships, while teaching parents the tools to feel better equipped to deal with children’s challenging behaviors with live feedback and support. I-PCIT has been found to be just as effective as in-clinic treatment and allows parents to receive in-the-moment behavior coaching without leaving their home! Check out the PCIT International Website for more information about PCIT treatment for your family.

More about Me

I received my masters in social work in 2009 and started my career as a school-based social worker serving K-12. This experience helped guide my decision to obtain my clinical license, and in 2011 I was fortunate to join the Child and Family Therapy team at Children’s Mercy Hospital. While there, I completed my licensure in both the state of Missouri and Kansas, as well as trained and received certification in several evidenced-based treatment programs including Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Alternatives for Families Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (AF-CBT). After approximately 9 years providing therapy at Children’s Mercy I began working in private practice and have continued to provide treatments centered around research and best practices.

"I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is collaborative, individually-tailored, strengths-focused and encourages your intrinsic worth."

As your therapist I truly find it an honor to sit in a space where you are sharing both moments of great joy and moments of grief and sorrow. Times of excitement and times of worry and hardship. Through all life’s ups and downs I value the work we can do within those four walls when we authentically show up and are committed to the process. Outside the office I am a wife and busy mom of three young kiddos (and one lazy bulldog). You can often find us exploring the nature trails in our area, spending time with our church family and friends, cheering on local sports teams (including the ones our kids play on), and trying out fun places to eat around town. I look forward to learning more about you and partnering in this phase of life!
